Joe Ponepinto is the Book Review Editor for the Los Angeles Review. He was the winner of the 2011 Springfed Arts Writers Contest (Michigan) in fiction, and was a finalist in Black Lawrence Press’s 2011 St. Lawrence Book Award contest for his short story collection. His work is published or upcoming in a variety of journals, including Passager, Apalachee Review, Fiction Southeast, Fiction Fix (University of North Florida), Valparaiso Fiction Review, Midwest Literary Magazine, Vestal Review, Stymie, and The Chaffin Journal (Eastern Kentucky University). He is a graduate of the MFA program at the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts, where he studied under award-winning authors including David Wagoner, Bruce Holland Rogers, Kathleen Alcalá and Carolyne Wright. Joe was a journalist, political speechwriter and business owner before turning to writing full time. He lives in Michigan with his wife, Dona, and Henry, the coffee drinking dog.
